ABOUT
THE STORY OF
elevateED
In a twenty-year career in K-12 education, I’ve seen:
-
Educators working themselves to the point of exhaustion and not being their best selves with students and colleagues.
-
Leaders seeing their staff members suffering with burnout and trying to help in ways that do make a real difference for their staff.
-
Educators wanting to make changes in their lives but not seeing how to do it without sacrificing impact with students.
-
Educators leaving the profession because they want healthier, more balanced lives and do not see that as possible in education.
-
Talented, passionate, professionals working incredibly hard to make a difference in the lives of children—but not seeing results proportional to their efforts.
-
Leaders wanting to support their staff but not knowing how to do it, losing valued staff members.
I realized that we could never have a public education system that works for students without addressing the hidden epidemics of burnout and turnover.
I REALIZED THAT THE MOST COMMON EFFORTS TO SUPPORT EDUCATORS WITH SUSTAINABILITY WERE JUST BAND-AIDS.
I dedicated my life to better understanding what makes joy and sustainable high performance so elusive for educators and to finding truly effective solutions.
Over the years, I have trained myself extensively as a coach, studied the academic literature on burnout and employee engagement, and collected the most effective strategies for my coaching clients and workshop participants.
The result is a unique collection of tools that address the root causes of burnout and make high performance and sustainability possible together. I founded SustainTeacher (since renamed elevateED) in 2018 to bring these tools to schools, districts, and individuals who need them. Since then, elevateED coaching and workshops have transformed the lives of clients around the country. Read their testimonials to learn more about how.
-
ELEVATE
Logo refers to the spiraling up in consciousness. The negative space creates a lowercase “d” and uppercase “D”.
-
CENTER
Like the calm in the center of a tornado, the space in the center symbolizes the calm in the center that helps balance the movement on the outside.
-
SPLIT
The split in the main circle reminds us to use the work-life balance “split” to elevate in leadership, work and life. It also represents the flame or spark that’s been reignited after burn-out.
-
DOT
The seat of “concealed wisdom”. It is considered the point at which creation begins and becomes unity.
-
CAPSULE
The Container that holds the space for transformation.
